Exactly, and the results of most polls are pretty even - everybody has their own preferences.

I voted just t'keep it even though I really haven't formed an opinion on that topic

Plesk is better for the stability, but Cpanel is better for customers. I would have to vote for Plesk on this one. If I had a hosting company, and offered paid hosting, I would go with Cpanel. Cpanel is more atractive and lends itself better to customers.

And the exact question would be 'Which control panel do you like more?' or 'Which control panel fullfills your special needs better?'.
Very annoying.

Does anyone know when Plesk will support Telnet/SSH access for clients?

You might want to ask them. But I hope that they don't do it until they get their file permissions adjusted so that the machine is suitable for shell access.
