I am trying to find notes, comments and suggestion how to attract visitors to the Web site or Forum and increase traffic. I am not sure that I am the first one who is interested in site promotion. But, I can not find an appropriate thread with right suggestions. Please, correct me if I am wrong and such question is discussed and totally clear.

I will appreciate any comments and sharing ideas. I hope all notes from successful Guru will be helpful for beginners to promote Web sites or Forums.

the most suggestive solution is trade/exchange links. ;)

you do need to participate in other forums to get the word out. If paying for advertising is not an option then you need to exchange links and get listed in search engines. A forum takes time to develop. You need to have interesting topics and give people a reason to come back.

WOM, get your friends to spread the message and ask them to participate in your forum (if there's one).

If you have a forum, you could get it listed in a forum directory that contains loads of different categories like forumdirectory.net
