How can I read your last post when we posted at the same time? You cant go and change the rules around after you set them. Now the people that posted at first will not be able to win. They didnt know that. That is not fair. I don't care if I dont win but what about the people that already posted before you changed the rules around. They lost there chance without warning. Its your show so you run it how you like but you are running an unfair one.

josephp - it would seem your idea si fully flawed. if each member is limited to 1 post then atleast 20 memebrs would have to sacrifice their chance in order for there to be a 25th post.

think of it like this, i posted one of the early posts (i dont need the hosting it i wanted to comment on the idea). while there may be 5 or 6 other people who post just to help others out, you'd be lucky to end up with 10 posts. then you have 15 more psots needed before a winner is announced.

however, if i can post only once then why would i make post #11? after all... i have no chance to win and am better off hopping somoene else posts but no one else wants to be post #11 either.

in short there is no way the post count would reach 25 unless numerous people posted sacrifical posts just to help others and even then, its ahrd to see 20 plus people doing that when it means loosing the chance to having something for free.

prehaps a better model would be to limit the number of posts to substian posts or to non-spam posts. if i post twice making a comment and then again as #25, that seems fine where as if i post 5 times in a row it is not.

but again, the entire idea is flawed since people are trying to reach a number and not under any standard. a far better contest would ask for ideas, ask for people to make something benefical to you or some form of contest measured either on near randomness or on merritt.

ps sorry about the spelling errors

on a side note, its interesting to see how many people really are kind enough to just post and help another out. im sure a shrink could have a career just reading this post
