Hey I have paintshop pro and am horrible at it and was wondering if there was a way to take one person from one picture and put them in another picture with another person? (and make it look realistic) Is there a tutorial somewhere? Thanks -Confused

I don't know about PSP7 but in Photoshop, creating a mask layer (using quick mask or alpha channels) would be your best bet..just don't use deconstructive editing such as erasing the image itself. After you do all that, just bring in the other photo under that layer and you will need to tweak it (proportions, lighting, etc.)

Here's an example tutorial, not the best, but it explains what I'm trying to.

But it doesn't explain it for paintshop pro :) Not everyone uses photoshop and I personally prefer the price of paintshop pro over photoshop.

Confused, follow some links on the tutorials that were given to you yesterday, especially the mardiweb one :)

There are not many Paint Shop Pro tutorials out there. So maybe a PS tutorial will help him. This programs work in a very similar way.

Let's not require everyone to fork over that kind of dough for image editing, though, eh? It's really not difficult, there's lots of software out there that can make perfectly acceptable web graphics. I'm actually surprised at the lack of response here, I would've thought more folks were using PaintShop.

Even Photoshop LE that you can pretty much get free with your scanner/camera/whatever though is suitable....(last version I touched though was 4 of that? lol)...

But....I guess if you want to make only web graphics....PSP7 is a good choice? I've heard some things of The Gimp? Similar to Photoshop but a hard learning curve if you're a Photoshop user?

Most techniques though can be adapted for each program, it's just a matter of how comfortable you are with that program to find ways of doing things. There's a million ways to do one thing in Photoshop :)

The technique is called 'cloning'. In Photoshop, the tool is called 'rubberstamp'. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this in PS, sorry I can't be specific to your needs. If you have to, temporarily make your image (canvas) larger and copy the entire second image to it, alongside the first. Use whatever the tool is called in your software to select the portion of image (now that you have one big one) you want to copy, in PS one holds down the 'alt' key to do this. Then, move the cursor to where you want the image cloned to, and start painting.

Not as good as Azn_Chic's earlier post, but another method to consider.

Ever tried it? I have and it isn't easy. There is an immense amount of tutorials out there. I used to have a fantastic one bookmarked but I am suspecting it has evolved to http://www.psplinks.com/ and increased dramatically in size. By the looks of things, if you don't find it on this site, you just may not find it at all. Just clicking on image effects is mind boggling :eek2:
