Occasionally my raq will get pretty high cpu usage (9.0+). Usually this can be solved by a simple apache reboot, and the processes go back down to .2-.6 (which is beautiful :)).

Anyway, I know that it would probably be rather simple to setup a crontab to run a script every few minutes to check cpu usage, and if it is above a specified amount, restart apache.

I personally do not know how to do the script, and was wondering if anyone could share there knowledge of how to do this.

I've talked with a couple other people, and I'm not the only one looking for something like this....

So if anyone can help out that would greatly be appreciated.

I would suggest you get to the bottom of the problem why your Raq keeps having high CPU usage and deal with it instead of rebooting all the time.

It's just memory overload :)

Memory seems cheap enough such that you could add some!
