I've noticed on the server that there are often two different folders in the mail folder with the names of POP accounts created for that particular domain.
In cpanel, the space usage matches one of the inbox files for a particular email account. The other, however, is just there... and sometimes is pretty big.
What exactly is the difference between these two inbox files? Is it safe to delete one of them?
Here's an example of what I'm seeing. Imagine there are two pop accounts created on the domain superman.com: admin, and sales.
Here's what I'd see:
/mail (top level /mail/ folder)
--- /admin (folder)
------- inbox
--- inbox
--- /sales
------- inbox
--- saved-messages
--- sent
--- /superman.com
------- /admin
---------- inbox
------- /sales
---------- inbox
I have a client who has the same email address as the main account name in WHM (eg. "jsmith@superman.com", and the WHM account name for this domain is "jsmith"). He had 35mbs in the superman.com/jsmith/inbox file, which matched what cpanel said was his space usage. BUT, there also was a jsmith folder in the main Mail folder, and in that was an inbox file that was a whopping 78mbs!
Any ideas?
Thanks!
