I've never once used one... cywkevin 07-02-2004, 02:31 AM Only when I'm looking for something such as a webcam. sandanista 07-02-2004, 04:10 AM Sometimes the terms & conditions of a sale can be hidden away so I have to find them on the site map. Its also a quick way of finding any page on the site (assuming they have made a good site map) TR Seeks 07-02-2004, 04:17 AM If i cant find something thats where I go. Usually as a last resort :) ldcdc 07-02-2004, 10:03 AM Very very rarely when I really can't find a certain page/info. The main purpose of a sitemap page nowadays is (although some might disagree with me) to make sure that all the pages get spidered by the search engines. The help in site usability is just a pleasurable side effect. ;) NetHosted-Andrew 07-02-2004, 10:12 AM No one has a site map for us guys, it's for Google's benefit! Right, it's a big help for Googlebot and other search engine crawlers and that's probably the biggest reason most people add one. On the other hand, it can be helpful for human visitors as well, especially on large sites and if you include a short description or title for each page. zerosix 07-03-2004, 12:19 AM Usually if the site's navigation can't get me to where I want, I will look for a site map. stripeyteapot 07-03-2004, 07:58 AM I tend to look through a service / solutions sitemap to find out anything that isn't directly linked. Sites such as Amazon I just use the search ;) 4ulyrics 07-04-2004, 04:25 AM I also never used it because most of the time i find things easily . |
