Ive run trade mark searches for the phrase light year web and have come up with nothing, while I can also find a company called Light year network solutions. Being the holiday weekend, and time of night my attorney will not be able to advise me on the issue until The next business week. I wanted to know your oppinions as to if you think it will become a problem to use the name light year web. Also, Ive searched for documentation which states the law, in hopes to see if it is even nescary to contact my attorney (in other words if I know its blatant infringement according to the law, I dont need to be charged to be told that). i'm not a lawyer but if your trademark search was extensive and there really isn't any company holding a trademark on "light year web" or it's derivatives, then i guess it's safe to say that you can register your company as such _then_ register a trademark on "light year web" and it's various forms including just the phrase "light year", if it's allowed.

then, issue a cease and desist order to the other company for trademark infringement. :eek:
