I am looking for a little help on setting up my RaQ 4r.
I have never used a cobalt system before and as easy at it looks I am having some confusions.

Anyways each website needs its own dns right?
If so (which is what I have been told) how do I enter a seperate dns server for each domain name when I am trying to run more than 1 domain off 1 IP?

If anyone has a nice step by step guide as to creating a .com or .net and setting up the dns and everything for it I'd really be very appriciative.

I am still learning this raq stuff and to make it even harder I do not have the manuals for it only the online manuals which I still am a little confused on.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Sorry one more thing.
When you first set up the Box it asks you for a COBALT SERVER NAME and a DOMAIN NAME. What would I put these as?

I know the domain name is especailly important but I do not run my own domain name off the cobalt server at the moment.. so it could not be raq4.lightninghosts.com can it?

Anyways just a few things that are unclear.

Thanks!

Hi Sirus

you can use raq4.lightninghosts.com for your raq server....

This will be your first domain on your raq... you can also use www.lightninghosts.com ... or anything else...

To add more domains, simply click on Add virtual Site in the Admin Screen and fill in the form...

Then, you have to create an user for this domain (click on modify for this domain and then add a user with site-admin rights)

finally, you have to setup the dns records for your new domain:

Click on Control Panel and open the properties screen for the dns service.
There you have to create the following records:
a record: yourdomain.com -> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
a record: www.yourdomain.com -> xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
mail server: www.yourdomain.com -> yourdomain.ch

hope this will help you...
