the-best-cars 06-30-2004, 07:28 AM Hello
I need a dedicated server with:
>= 128MB RAM
>= 20GB SATA HDD
>= 300 GB Bandwidth
>= 1 Ip Addresses
>= 1,0 Ghz CPU
- Cpanel / WHM Included!
- pay monthly
- pay via 2checkout
$0 Setup
<=$70 Monthly
Please advice.
Thanks.
porcupine 06-30-2004, 07:42 AM Good luck on that one :).
CPanel is $35/mo for most, $25/mo for people who get heavy discounts, meaning that the host is only going to see $35-45/mo of that, alone making it not worth their while (when they could take the same server, break it down into 5 reseller accounts for the same rate say, thats not even enough $$$ to pay for bandwidth/power much less components).
Erm, well that and the fact that yuo cant get 20GB SATA drives.
Imago 06-30-2004, 07:47 AM Have you looked here

CMachuca 06-30-2004, 01:44 PM For those features you could just get a semi-dedicated account somewhere :)
Good luck with your search. Check out www.tomsyer.net I have a server with them and they're great.
ChaosHosting 06-30-2004, 01:46 PM Here you go.

ChaosHosting 06-30-2004, 01:51 PM Oh, I forgot to mention you could probably pick something up at BVS for around that price also.
Joshua 06-30-2004, 02:25 PM pay via 2checkoutIs 2checkout necessary, or can it just be by CC? Nocster has a Celeron 1.0 Ghz, 256MB RAM, 20GB HD, 1000GB Xfer for $50, +$20 for CPanel.

RedPCSystems 06-30-2004, 04:32 PM I'd recommend these guys http://server4sale.com/
I have a server with them and couldn't be happier
westcan 06-30-2004, 04:37 PM Servints Signature VPS Package should meet your needs. You would also get a quality service too.

...but I wouldn't. They are resellers from BurstNet/Nocster and they are always under DOS attacks; not to mention that packetlosses are also extremely common there (every few days). I wouldn't exactly blame Server4Sale though, because their support is quite good. However, the datacenter they use.... bleh. I currently have a dedicated server with them and I'll be moving out soon.
If you REALLY need a dedicated server, go with ServerMatrix (https://www.servermatrix.com/solutions/sc17_server.html), and hurry up before their $69 package runs out.
Joshua 06-30-2004, 06:12 PM packetlosses are also extremely common there (every few days). Could you show some proof of this? Nobody's reported any packetloss here at WHT, on Burst forums, and none of our clients have complained about it. My own server at Burst shows less than 0.3% packetloss over the last 19 days (this could be packetloss caused by Burst or the end user), and it's not very scientific in that respect, as it tends to overstate packetloss.

BurstNET 06-30-2004, 06:13 PM "...but I wouldn't" read the information in front of me, including the network forum that shows me that there have been less outages and network problems over the past 4 months for BurstNET/Nocster, than the host I am recommending.
You really shoudn't leave out the rest of your sentence like that!

Read the original post before recommending something $20 above the user's price range. Their budget is $70 with CPanel, not $70 without CPanel. That SM server would cost $89 with CPanel.

Check out www.angelnetworkz.net and look on their forums for the buy one get one free deals.

You can even get one on the same datacenter as ServerMatrix "ThePlanet". Just look out for their Texas servers.
