View Full Version : Interested in having a web site designed that will BLOW YOUR MIND
avara 12-16-2001, 07:25 AM Actually I don't think it should blow your mind. Just look good. ;)
hostit365.com will be renamed and relaunched (of course we'll keep the same affordable plans and great support!) early in the new year. What I'm looking for is a good, professional template which should contain the following:
1. Nice logo
2. Functional fast loading yet eye-catching design
3. Professional
Originally I was going to get this done in-house, but we've currently got several big sites to finish, so I would be very interested in "out sourcing". If you're interested, please post the following:
1. At least 2 examples of sites/templates you've been involved with/made
2. How much you would charge
3. Anything else you think is relevant
I only posted this on WHT, nowhere else.
splatwd 12-16-2001, 11:46 AM Hello;
Do you have AIM, ICQ or MSN?
Thanks.
Franz
IrishFlash 12-16-2001, 12:47 PM Hi,
Here are links to my past work:

http://www.professionalconnections.net
http://vietnamwarsite.********
http://revolutionwebdesign.tripod.com
http://evoweb.tripod.com

http://www.scoilnet.ie/teachtothefuture
I have skills in Flash 5, DreamWeaver, hand coded HTML, Javscript, Photoshop 6, Fireworks 4, Director 8.5.
I have designed a number of sites and logos as you can see above for clients ranging from Intel (who i worked for for 1 year) through to business ervice componies.
On first impressions I think I could do the site for in the region of $1000. However, to give a finalised quote we would need to discuss more detailed requirements, develop a project development plan and decide on delvierables etc.
I am very interested in working on this project and I look forward to hearing from you soon. My e-mail is: martycrumlish@hotmail.com
Just to pre-empt whats probably going to happen in this post: As happens in most job boards the undercut brigade will no doubt quote a price way below mine. However, being a professional designer and being used to working with other professionals I know that the saying "pay peanuts, get monkeys" usually applies. Once I get a detailed set of requirements I can give you a very detailed and fair quote. It would be better to do this by e-mail or perhaps Micrs oft Messenger(my handle is: martycrumlish@hotmail.com).
Regards,
Martin Crumlish

2advanced is a really nice site.
pixelbrick...not bad, definatley not amazing IMHO
designerduo...You were blown away by that?
(It's pretty nice, but it certainly doesn't set itself apart from any other site [in terms of webdesign])

you read me wrong .. I said, "if you whant a BLOW YOUR MIND SITE" you need to hire one of these, I didn't say anythign about their particular site (even so I think they are all very nice) .. look at their portfolio, they all have amazing sites .. one last company I furgot is http://mediatemple.com .. also very nice work
And Aron . your work is very nice, I like what you did with PalmVersa .. but this is a different caliber we talkign about here
avara 12-16-2001, 03:03 PM Thanks for your offers thus far.
I don't really fancy the 2advanced site design myself, and as far as pixelbrick goes, their site looks nice but takes too long to download IMHO.

I was referring to both designerduo's site, and portfolio...
I'm not trying to put myself above anybody, I am honestly not impressed (By designerduo). As I said, nice, but not amazing.

ok
Relyc 12-16-2001, 03:21 PM To clear something up:
I was only expressing my opinions on those sites, and they are as follows:
2advanced: Very nice site, something I definatley look up to.
Pixelbrick: Also very nice, though I like 2advanced much more
Designerduo: Average
I apologize for any misunderstanding or if I offended anybody :)
Jedito 12-16-2001, 03:33 PM DesignerDuo is not taking jobs until Feb 2002.
I contected them awhile ago, and that is what they told me.
For pixelbrick start to thinking in at least $5K for site design, I like what they did with HR.
Spoono 12-16-2001, 03:40 PM Heh...I'd be willing to do some work for you if you are interested. Own www.spoono.com www.tutorialforums.com www.free-spot.com several others if you're interested.
I'm opening the new Spoono Design Services and it would be a great addition to add your site into our portfolio. Please email me at webmaster@spoono.com if you are interested.
As for the comment about there being a lack of good designers in the forum, I would like to disagree. I don't think I've ever had anyone come up to me and say any of my designs are crap and are not comparable to 2Advanced or PixelBrick.

Akash Goel

Actually, start thinking of 5K with Mediatemple as well, and allot more with 2advanced
we just got a contract with PixelBrick to design our datacolo.com site, out of all of them the company that suprised me was 2advanced, they asked me 30K for what I wanted ..
NicoV 12-16-2001, 05:12 PM hehehe now try comparing that to 2design.org, now that will cost you a LOT of money
delemtri 12-17-2001, 12:56 AM Talk about hijacking a thread, geez.
I make sites. But they don't blow anybody's mind. They load fast though... :D

One Web 12-29-2001, 05:24 PM If you want a killer design then try http://www.pointonweb.com they are amazing. you can look at what they are working on for me here (http://pointonweb.com/projects/lwh/) and another part of their portfolio here (http://pointonweb.com/clients.htm)

Look like they'll cost your Arm, Legs and Shirt:D
BrianF 12-30-2001, 11:11 PM For a site like hostrocket.com from pixelbrick would run you 40k.
If your talking nice designs, I mean nice, your looking at 30 grand and up.
Brian
One Web 12-31-2001, 01:03 AM No. Look at my design it didn't cost that much. Yes you do have to pay but with $5000-$10000 you should be able to get something really good. The thing with HR is that PB did all the backend too and that cost a lot.
elektrodelic 12-31-2001, 01:20 AM Avara,
Please visit my design site, www.elektrodelica.com. If you like my design talents, please leave me a message. I hope I can help you with your design request.

zhenjie 01-01-2002, 09:12 AM Wow!
that error 404 is nice.
your hired!
NetXL 01-01-2002, 09:19 AM You may not have noticed, but he finished his sentence with the URL, putting a full stop at the end of the url. So if you go there, just remove the last dot from the address bar, and it should work.

:D

actually, you just need to know where to look...you can probably get as low as $3k for that design
padders 01-26-2002, 08:35 AM Pixelbrick were looking at 2.5 - 3k for a 2 page type design with a front page, and a template page for the other sections including design and flash.
One Web 02-01-2002, 12:37 PM Well if anyone is interested I am selling my design and name. I never got to use the design but if no one wants it I will. The design mock up can be seen at http://www.livewebhost.com/design/ if anyone is interested please email me. Im also placing http://www.totalfreehost.com in the package.
