Hi,
Been doing some work recently and it is possible to offer windows as a VPS. Just wondering if anyone would be interested in a windows 2000/2003 VPS?
Price mark around $100/mo for a machine with 512mb ram.
Full administrator access.
Anyone interested?

I would be interested but not at that price. How much disk space and bandwidth would be included.

How would this compare with a full dedicated Windows server for about the same price range ?

Which virtual machine software are you using ?
Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 ? or VMWare ? or something else ?

Hi,
It's based on user mode linux with the windows install running on top of that. For $100 a month you could expect the following:
Dual Xeon or opteron box.
512MB dedicated RAM.
Windows Server 2003/Windows 2000 Server
Full administrator access
Basic managed (ie Windows Update, etc).
RAID 1 disks.
Backup FTP space to the same amount of disk space you have.
A VPS would give pretty much the same performance as a full dedicated machine. Plus you get the benefits of RAID1 disks, dual processor stability, a great network connection, and free backup space. All at the same price as a basic celeron dedicated server, with all those added features.
Obviously you get the ability to upgrade instantly for example if you wanted more disk space, it can be added with just a reboot.
