I was told they don't really install anything for security or make sure all nessacary ports are closed What all is needed setup after getting a rackshack server to make sure it properly secure. Thanks Hostgold First thing you want to do is install ipchains.. on RS's forum, do a search for shortfork and ipchains I put up a really easy to understand install step-by-step and basic config script.. I say "basic" on the script because it is my config, your's may differ if you use other services that I don't.. but it's a good start and slams the door on most stuff immediatly.. Then go to http://www.cobalt.com/support/download/raq4.eng.html and install *all* .pkg files that are not already on the box... I say all with some reservations because one of the kernel updates does do some strange things but you need to do it anyway then deal with the issues.. only one I saw from it was the way it affected .htaccess files..
