View Full Version : The Best Resellers Yet
egomzez 06-28-2004, 03:00 PM I wanted to make a recommendation for people looking for a web reseller. I have a growing web hosting service. I started with services that offered limited packages. I moved to a service that offered more options in their packages but they had the worst customer service and it seemed they were down at least once a day.
I came to webhostingtalk.com and submitted my wishlist and got a plethora of responses from a variety of services. Some offered pricey packages with limited options. After emailing back and forth with a couple different services I opted for excellhosting.net . When I informed all the other services of my choice, based on pricing, options and customer service, one even made a curt reply ... " You get what you pay for!"
Its been over a month now and I have to say I am getting more then I paid for. Excellhosting.net has been reliable, helpful and "on the ball".
I believe that excellhosting is by far the best reseller service I have had the pleasure of buying. Don't get ripped off by over priced services that don't take the time to treat you like a real person.

Hostivo 06-28-2004, 03:25 PM Yes what do you guys say about them, would you rate them better than a lot of companies out there? Thanks!
BF-Gary 06-28-2004, 03:40 PM That's Great I like hearing this kind of stuff. Is it the domain egomzez.com that you are using with them? If so let us know how they are doing at th 6 month and 1 year mark.
egomzez 06-28-2004, 03:47 PM For the price, options, and customer service they rate high on my list, to reiterate my support of them.
Excellhosting has cpanel with fantastico. It rocks. (Note that it does require some skill at editing php files and some modules take a bit of tweaking, but if you have that skill I recommend it.)
Other services want you to pay for add- on domains and sub-domains and search engine submittal. That all comes with cpanel through excellhosting.
They also have options like paswword protecting folders and the web stats to such a degree that it is mind boggling.
They also offer a great leased server package that I am working towards.

Egomzez.com <-- yes this is my main site hosted on excellhosting.net. I will post back here in 6 months and let you know how it goes.
Hostivo 06-28-2004, 03:59 PM Yes please let me know too. I am considering a few places for dedicated servers, and I am looking at excellhosting, but I am still not convinced, can some one convince me? Thanks!
gilbert 06-28-2004, 04:12 PM no sorry i dont think i could convince you there man
Hostivo 06-28-2004, 04:22 PM Thanks Gilbert, if anyone else can, please do, or do you have any suggestions?
egomzez 06-28-2004, 04:43 PM Every transaction one makes has a certain amount of risk involved.
Don't soley trust the word of ther people. Take a risk and try it yourself. When I looked at the various pros and cons of each service I looked for someone who had minimal risk. I chose a service that is located in the US. I chose a month to month service plan with no contract to bind me for years at a time.
Excellhosting does use pay pal which might no be right for every state in the U.S., but I have had no problem whatsoever here in Oregon and rather then having funds taken from my account every month I send the payment.
Also something that gives me confidence in excellhosting is when I changed to them I had to transfer around 20 sites. I was able to do this at my leisure over a week. I had very minimal complications and the problems I did have were mostly related to user error on my part.
The customer service at excellhosting was very helpful in pointing out how I could create more efficient and streamlined sites. I have learned alot from them about cpu usage, which makes a more stable server for all.
I recommend you contact them and makes your needs clear. They will tell you if they are the right service for you or not. Which is far better then other services who might gorge themselves on new customers but lack the manpower to give adequate assistance.

Hostivo 06-28-2004, 04:48 PM OK, thanks for the advice, I will talk to them.
smdawg33 06-28-2004, 08:45 PM I along with egomzez am also a very happy customer of Excell Hosting. I am currently nearing my 3 month mark with them and have had nothing but good experiences with them. They have excellent support and always answer my questions very fully and clearly along with being very courteous and kind. My webpage speeds are extremely fast, and have yet to have any downtime. I would recommend Excell Hosting to anyone.
Regards,
Steven
reynoldses 06-29-2004, 03:47 PM Does anyone know where Excell Hosting is based, or where their data center is, or even if they have their own data center? Their web site is very skimpy on details about the company, which I usually regard as a bad sign (although I'm impressed by the passion of their proponents on this thread).
egomzez 06-29-2004, 04:11 PM They are based in california and the servers are in california. They have an off hour support person who is in the UK. I asked before I signed up and got that response in an email.
chaud 06-29-2004, 05:03 PM We are skimpy with details for a reason. I live in Misssissippi off hour support in the UK as previously stated. The servers are in california and in a datacenter. Im afraid we arent big enough for a datacenter just yet.
egomzez 06-29-2004, 05:20 PM Oops my error on where you wer based
chaud 06-29-2004, 05:45 PM Well, you were right on where the servers are based.
You need to run a spell checker over that website - some of the spelling, aswell as grammar, is simply awful.
As for servers, they are managed.com servers.

exactly ... it is easy to sing the praises in the first few weeks...
almost too easy...
chaud 06-30-2004, 08:06 AM Try 4 months. And I havent had any downtime besides rebooots. So tell me when I'm doing bad again?
I'm not running around saying bad things about you or your host or your company is you have one. So please, unless you have a valid point, dont complain. You havent even used the service.
NexDog 06-30-2004, 10:55 AM Easy tiger, no-one said anything bad about your service. ;)

???
who is complaining? or saying that you did anything bad?
my point is that to make decent review it has to be for a considerable length of time which you client has yet to have... that makes sense doesn't it?
and my comment was directed to your client who made the post rather then you...
I wish you best of luck with your venture...
