hi,

im thinking about buying http://www.hotplum.com/flash-templates/t84/index.html for my friend, and customising it. he is a film student, and wants to put his film on his website. i was wondering how to put video instead of photos on that specific site. like click on those thumbnales and ahve the video come up in the middle instead of the photos.

thanks

change any references from .jpg to .mov, .avi, .mpg or whatever?

Who knows? Ask Hotplum - They must offer some degree of support for whatever price you pay for a template, right?

that is a very overpowering site lol nice though...

yet I go to school with a lot of film students...most prefer Super 8 film or 16mm etc....and all the flashyness of the things on the site would take away from the creative work in my opinion unless that person was a jack of all trades...

but, good luck with it. it's nice.

the person providing the template should be able to give you support on it. it isn't hard to change .mov/.avi from .jpg but you will definitely need a preloader made of some sort (it is not recommended to have streaming video content, it is costly if it is popular). Most video artists of any sort, usually encode in divx and zip the file to be downloaded and offer screenshots to view before downloading.

since the site is in flash, you would most likely have to turn the video/movie into a flash movie and have it loaded into the flash site.

I think thats called streaming.

Why don't you compress the videos using winzip, rar, arj and let the user download? Saves you lots of bandwidth i think.
