I have been making a new look for my site. However I feel that it lacks a certain quality.

Could I get some opinions on it. Note that there are certain parts that are new and thus I haven't made them look pretty.

To web designers I see that what splash has done with the design competition is working out well for them. If you think you can design a better site and I like it then perhaps we can work out some kind of arrangement where I give you free hosting for life or I pay you for the site.

I thnik the main problem with the site is the (over)use of gray in the colour sceme..even the blue looks grayish?!

I think it lacks something design wise, to hold the site together. I see grids, lines, and bevels. Keep it consistent and try to keep it as simple as possible(add the fancy stuff later).

To me it looks like to seperate designs header and middle (they seem like seperate parts).

I think it's because the header goes across 100% of my browser whereas the middle only about 80%.

Try to make it flow better is my opinion. I like it though.
