View Full Version : mirror two raqs

Hi there,

I have a raq 4r. I am looking at getting another raq4r for backup purposes. Basically I would like one raq to be the exact mirror of the other... all web sites and the whole mysql databases. This way if one system goes down the other will pickup the slack. This would help us out if one server went down -- then we wouldn't have to work like superheros trying to get the system up and running again.

Can someone recommend (or point me to the right direction) on how this could be made possible.

We've got the bandwidth here ourselves so we're not concerned about paying extra co-location fees as this isn't an issue for us (luckily).

Thanks,

-dr

If you would like to have redundant Raq4's or Miror 2 Raq's, you will need to get what they call the ManageRaq. In the ManageRaq's GUI interface, you can specify the IP of two different raqs and it will poll them both at a set interval and if one goes down it will make the 2nd one take over.

I hope this helped. There are also many more features to the ManageRaq. I had one, but it wasnt something I needed so I sold it.

I use rsync. It works fine. I posted my rsync commands somewhere in this board. Just do a search.
