Did I just make a big mistake by signing up with these guys?
I have the $10/mo plan that advertises one domain for the account (www.yourname.com).
All the previous hosts I've had (3) have provided DNS entries for me to use with my registrar. After checking out all their documentation all I found was this:
==========
DOMAIN NAME SERVICE
Csoft is a web hosting provider not a domain registrar. We
assist neithor in the transfer nor the registration of
domain names. To have your domain resolve universally,
contact your registrar and have them configure your domain
to use our nameservers. For the names and addresses of our
nameservers, see your server's csoft-spec(7).
To execute a whois query on mydomain.com, use whois(1).
$ whois mydomain.com
After a WHOIS query returns that the domain is bound to
our nameservers, it should resolve unproblematically. You
might want to get acquainted with dig(1), in order to con-
duct extensive nameserver queries by yourself.
===========
I'm not clear on what they are telling me here... I have no idea what my server's csoft-spec(7) is and I don't see any other reference to this on their site.
I don't mind the command line control interface so much, but I definately need more informaiton on how to get a domain set up with their service.
I did find some older posts here from people who have had awful experiences with chost. I hope I didn't screw up.
