How to check the HDD if it's allright ?

there are some command line utilities that you boot the system from floppy disk (get them from www.download.com) these will run tests on the whole system, the ISE/SCSI bus and the disk its self.

depeding on what OS you are running then linux has some utilities and windows has some utilities, im more a windows person myself so id use scandisk from windows but there are utilities available for linux which im sure another member of the forum will be willing to tell you all about.

Id suggest using the boot disk method as that can do the lowest level of tests on the system, but unfortunately involves shutting the server down and having local access to the server :-(
