Go to https://www.stargateinc.com/ register your domain. Then get the hosting, then go back to Stargate and change the Name servers for your domain.

With most hosts, you can do both at the same time. Either the host will sell you the domain name - preconfigured for their hosting service, or with some hosts you can purchase a web hosting package that includes the domain name free. If you choose a host that falls in the later category, just be sure that YOU own the domain name and not the web host.
Take care,

You should buy the domain first. Most hosts will require you to enter a domain name when signing up for a package.

If you don't want to wait for long, I think the best way is...
1. Choose your webhost.
2. Purchase a domain from a register (not from your webhost)
3. Use the nameservers on the new domain
4. Then sign up (for the webhost you chose at step 1.)

Do as klisis said. Register the domain separately at a registrar (not a host) so that you know the domain is registered to you. You always want to register the domain first to make sure that the domain is available and in your hands so-to-speak. Doing this can avoid frustration later if somehow someone beat you to the domain and you end up having to get a new domain and your account changed.
