View Full Version : A very good starting with pwebtech…
WebSun 12-12-2001, 05:32 PM I was looking to find a good host in a NOC with a very fast response time from Latin America. I found a host with very attractive special price but with very bad support reputation (a number of threads was about the lack of support from this company). After one week of non-answered support ticket, I have canceled my server (Don’t ask the name of the host, I don’t shoot on ambulance).:uzi:
Two hours after canceling this server, I read a threads from jayglate offering a good deal on a dedicated server, after some chat on ICQ with Jay, I received the contract after five minutes, signed and faxed it back, my server was up 48 hours later and my first support ticket answered in less then 35 minutes…
Now I’m with Pwebtech.com in NAC not so fast then ***.net NOC but the difference is very small (±15ms)
What a great host, very fast support and very kind relation. I highly recommend Pwebtech to everybody who is looking for a dedicated server.
:)
major 12-13-2001, 04:24 AM I have been with Pwebtech for a few weeks now, and I can only agree that they are great. I have asked a lot of support questions, and all of them have been responded to in a timely manner.
The network is fast too. When running tests with ftp://ftp.uu.net/uumap.tar.Z I usually get in excess of 3.5+ MB/s. Now that's nice...
Highly recommended if you're looking for a good, reasonably priced dedicated server.
Perfecthost 12-13-2001, 09:16 AM Hello all-
I am impressed with all the good things I hear about Pwebtech. It seems they are a great company.
Does anyone, having experience with Pwebtech, know if they will work with you on the set-up fee? I realize the purpose for the set-up, so I'm not looking for enlightenment on the subject.:)
I am presently reselling for a company which has 15 to 20 servers with pwebtech. I want to lease a server through the company I'm reselling for (which in turn would be using Pwebtech) so they can help with server admin occasionally, but the set-up fee on top of the monthly is a killer. Just trying to see if there is an alternative.

dawolf 12-14-2001, 12:59 AM Jay, Ed and the gang at Pwebtech run a class operation...(don't forget the 2 hot blondes in the office too!). Service has been nothing short of awesome, in 7 months have experienced almost no down time and the NAC network is Fast......
Most importantly, my company was able to grow and prosper with the help of the Pegasus gang. I have come to consider them a silent partner. I recommend them to anyone starting out, or to any established host looking to switch NOCs. You can't go wrong with Pegasus

universal2001 12-14-2001, 04:58 AM Are you sure this is correct: "in 7 months have experienced almost no down time"..
Last month we were down a few hours due to some Level3 problem at pwebtech...
ME: Hi, what happened to the servers today? It was down for a few hours? :o
Jay: Level3 de routed our ips by accident.
I am aware that it is not a pwebtech problem.. but just want to get the facts straight. :)
jayglate 12-14-2001, 05:11 AM only ex-equinix cilents where down with level3 ips, no other pegasus clients were affected.
universal2001 12-14-2001, 07:49 AM yep... true...
However, I lost 3 customers from that downtime... :(
HostingDirect 12-14-2001, 08:58 AM I would also like to chime in here in support of pwebtech. I have been with pwebtech for about two months now and everything has been excellent! Uptime and support have been great!
If you are looking to go dedicated I would highly recommend going with pwebtech, you will not be disappointed!
universal2001 12-14-2001, 09:27 AM Well I like them most because of their price.. everyone loves them for different reasons..

I did not say I didn't experience no downtime, I said almost no downtime.
I don't care how many redundant connections, how many routers you have, and how bullet proof your network is, there will always be some kind of downtime. The good companies, keep this to a minimum.
