I want to create multiple FTP accounts each with preset monthly bandwidth and storage allowances. I have a dedicated CPanel server with ProFTP and PureFTP installed.

I have had a hard time finding information on limiting bandwidth usage in FTP accounts. Any help?

if you setup bandwidth on certain account that bandwidth will be used for its account as it calculates both ftp and httpd bandwidth.

True, I guess that would work, and at least with WHM/Cpanel you don't have to use a dedicated IP. I'd really rather keep all FTP accounts separate from system accounts though - no other access besides FTP is required. PureFTP suppose these "virtual accounts", but bandwidth throttling is only supported in terms of Kbps, not MB/month.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree. Is there a good file hosting script that would track FTP usage in this way?

Not sure about CPanel, but Ensim Pro does track FTP bandwidth usage as part of the entire site's usage.
