if you had a website and you found out it was on a server with 392 other sites would you be concerned?

It'd would have to depend on various things.

How large are the other websites? Are they static? Are they in fact large forum boards with thousands of posters?

What are the specs of the server? Is it a Celeron? Maybe it's a dual Xeon 2.8GHz with 4GB DDR RAM?

A lot of hosts may have that many clients on one server.
As long as they dont bog-down the server.. shouldn't be a problem.

Look if you have hosted 300 small sites of 50 mb
and 100 bigger sites of 100 mb.

Total Maximum Harddisk use will be not more as 25 GB.

A good scsi or sata in raid configuration could handle it without any problems.

That in combination with a dual processor and a enough memory and everything will be running fine.

I wouldn't really say that it is normal. However, it certainly is possible to do so with not hitches on the server; it really depends on the speed of the server, and the activity of the websites in question.

Theres 96 websites with me, but thats because its a quad optetron with 4 gig ram...
