Do you know how much they ask annually?
![]() | View Full Version : No Monthlyfees.com Fremont Servers 12-11-2001, 04:42 AM Do you know how much they ask annually? CWIhosting 12-11-2001, 04:55 AM I would give them a call: 1-909-888-5500 However according to their site, there are no other fees, just that one time $200 fee, and they claim their are no catches? http://www.nomonthlyfees.com/costs.htm Good luck. Fremont Servers 12-11-2001, 05:16 AM Before, it was onetime $200. Then they changed it to onetime $200 plus $35/annually. Today, they asked me to pay $70 if I want to renew it. Next year, well, I guess it will be $105. I got fooled by nomonthlyfees.com :bawling: Abu Mami 12-11-2001, 06:39 AM ...and if you ever leave them, they'll spam you like crazy. In addition, I had various problems with access to my control panel and ftp disappearing from time to time. They always fixed it promptly, but why did it disappear to start off with. They also weren't willling to upgrade outdated software on the server. diraja.com 12-11-2001, 08:25 AM The annual fees is USD35 for old account (with 200meg). The annual fees is USD70 for all new account (with 500meg). I have few accounts with them. No Bad. avara 12-11-2001, 08:40 AM Putting the viability of a hosting company offering a "no monthly fees" type package aside for a moment, I think the fact is that once they've got your money, they aren't really that interested in continuing to provide good service. In fact the quicker to switch to another host, the better. It is this which has always made me very skeptical of such offers. Also as I understand it, they originally said that once you pay their fee, you would never have to pay anything again. Suddenly they're making existing customers pay $35/year if they don't want to have their account deleted? At the very least that's a broken promise as far as I can see... imago-allan 12-11-2001, 09:59 AM since they are offering free domain registration for each new account, could it be that the annual $35/year is a renewal for domain registration and not for hosting? but, i still feel that you can simply have your domain transferred to another registrar and still remain hosted by them. this is the odd part. I dunno. i may be wrong. :) MrLister 12-11-2001, 10:50 AM nomonthlyfees.com has stained it's reputation a lot of times. They tend to spam users and use all current and previous customers as a money revenue source. There was even a case where they refused to allow a domain transfer. MadCool 12-12-2001, 01:30 AM During my newbie days, I had a site with them before in which they register the domain for me. They had a promotion where You get a free domain name if you have an account with them. The problem with me was that the domain name expired! They never renewed it and i didn't get any email or anything saying it was about to expire. The site went down for like 5 days. I saw my domain name up for sell and had to re register it! What a rip! Now i got two empty accounts with nomonthly fees heh. Anyone wanna make me an offer for them? MarcD 12-12-2001, 01:53 AM $200 One Time Fee + Small Annual Domain Registration/Maintenance Fee. Any company that says we will bill you a small anuall domain fee but does not say the amount is a no go. plus there site looks like crap there sign up page signup_pay_now.php3" method="post" name="FrontPage_Form1 i know you are not giving our a cc # but you are giving a user name and password and its not even a secure server im sorry but i have seen better looking webhost sites on geocities 311 12-12-2001, 05:02 PM It says right on their site, "Order Now Via Secure Server" when you click on the link it takes you to http://www.nomonthlyfees.com/signup.htm  Fremont Servers 12-12-2001, 05:26 PM I should have known at the beginning. When they first started, I thought it was a onetime fee, so I purchased several accounts. Then they decided to charge $35 annually. I thought it was ridiculous. (onetime fee and never have to pay again??) I had no choice but to pay the $35 annual fee. This year, they want $70 annual fee. That's it. I am sick of their business practice. They are the worstest of the worst web hosting companies. Can you name a web hosting company that is worster than NoMonthlyfees.com?
