Its a maze, how can some people offer 60GB for $300 and the next for $30 with no set-up fees?

What should someone look for.

Support from the biggest and smallest can be infrequent, and prices range hugely !!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum is BIBLE , and I cannot praise it enough.

There's no company that doesn't have horror stories, people forget that 5 comlaints here may be from 1000 users.

But really, what's a guy supposed to do. I have searched, researched and gone full circle at times.

Unlimited bandwidth is a no no
Disk space is generally not a concern
Features are normally good with most
It all comes down to bandwidth...................

Is there an amount that you should expect to pay per GB ?

ie 60GB = ...........

Or does it just com edown to the company, thier location , servers, co-location.

****e, if its not hard enough building sites, then you need a degree, years of research and a board like this just to find out where to host it !!!!!!!!!

hey sj2671,
One of the main things about this industry is if seems too good to be true, it probably is! Bandwidth usually costs from 1 dollar per gb to 7 dollars per gb. It depends on the quality and reliability of the line. I suggest posting your exact request for features and everything in the requests forum. There are some great hosts that visit this forum.

I think you sumed it up there by saying $1-$7 per mb

I will do as you say, but its understandable why this forum exists, when the above is true and service levels differ.

When guys just wanna build nice web sites, it seems so simple, until the client says why do I get "web page unavailable" :-)

And webmasters get shafted with bandwidth charges

That's because replies in that forum are disabled. Hosts can either pm or email you their offers.

Thank God you figured that out before you went off and signed a contract with one of these companies.

Looks like we have been semi successful.
