View Full Version : any other like godaddy?
mantra 12-10-2001, 12:39 PM Are there any other domain reselling programs like GoDaddy.com?
They only charge a $99 annual fee and offer some of the best prices on domains.
You have your own logo and images.
Any other domain reselling programs that are cheap and customizeable?
I already know of the following:
dotster.com
opensrs.com
enom.com
alldomains.com
bulkregister.com
Any others?

mantra 12-10-2001, 01:48 PM Thank you.
But stargate costs are much higher than GoDaddy's.
Any other reasonably priced domain resellers?

Or; are you saying the initial setup fee?
Which, at StarGate, is applied to your domain name purchases.
mantra 12-10-2001, 02:10 PM With StarGate I have to prepurchase 20 domains before I can start, plus the one-time $50 setup fee.
TheOp 12-10-2001, 04:45 PM Did you contact their sales dept? Maybe they will waive the setup? Never know til you ask...

If you are selling over 25 domains per year, they are pretty good, plus if you combine it with Hsphere you can collect and register for the domain, hosting and account all in one easy step. Fully automated

directi.com is an ICANN accredited registrar
You can buy domains for 7.25$/year and offer regn in real time
Cobrandable, API's etc available -you just need to invest 75$ deposit which you can use against regn - renewals and transfer 6.95$/year
Very good prices...
They are in Bombay but the sign up process is a bit clumsy to say the least [even for me sitting in Madras!]
Good luck

Incognito 01-05-2002, 05:33 PM Confused....if you want one like....why don't you just use the one you are looking for one like.....now really confused.
I have avoided GoDaddy because of service issues and because of their practice of spamming your customers to offer competing services to yours.
I recommend highly opensrs.com and dotster.com.
Opensrs is so extremely professional but requires rather large up front. However, you get domains for $10.
Dotster is $12, but no upfront, all automatic, and my experience with them has been great. Very fast promulgation, averaging about 24 hours recently.
jabweb 01-07-2002, 04:29 AM mantra,
Where are you getting the info on stargateinc?
I have been able to register individual domains for $8.88 and two or more $8.00 each
mantra 01-07-2002, 10:28 AM I was talking about the StarGate reseller program.
Where you have to pay $50 setup and I believe $200 up front for domains.
I would go with GoDaddy, since their prices are good, but their service isnt. I mean they don't provide free URL Forwarding and many other features for FREE.
Incognito 01-07-2002, 12:08 PM While I respect your opinions, I think a number of factors override the price issue. Those are:
Ease of Transfers
Overall Professionalism of Company
Customer Service
Ability to brand your own registration engine
Speed with which registrations are processed and domains promulgated.
For those reasons, I still recommend:
Opensrs is you are willing to pay the up-front.
Otherwise Dotster.
