I am the co-founder of http://www.applytools.com we have had alot of requests to host our products for our clients. Does anyone have any ideas on how we should approach this. Should we outsource hosting, get our own DS3 or OC-2 line, colocate.
Our customers want to pay between $100 and $1500 a year to host their products. all our tools are perl based hich just require a cgi bin perl 5 and apache.

Personally I would Co-locate. At some point, your own connection to the net may be in order. But if you're hosting the apps at the prices you've mentioned, the customer is going to expect some redundancy in your network and that's where it starts getting expensive. Especially when you're the only one using it.
