Hey, just curious..what types of download speeds do you get at home?
I just got cable Internet and during the day I can get around 400kbps download, 600kbps or so at night sometimes!

I'm about the same mkaufman
When I first got cable, 3 years ago( I was the very first one in the midlands of south carolina to get it for personal use, now it outnumbers aol! Half the people in my neighborhood have it)
I had a 300 mhz windows 98. The download speeds were aroudn 200 kbps which was awsome compared to dialup. I later got a newer computer, 800 mhz and the speeds immediately climbed to 300-350 kbps. I then went from win 98 SE, to win 2k (God i love win 2k) and it rose to 400-600, depending on the time of day.

Did you mean to put kbps in the poll?
I get about 2000 kbps max from my cable modem on a good night. Of course that's only 250 KBps, which keeps me happy enough.

By the way, the Canadian federal government is announcing the annual budget later today, and they're going to reportedly allocate $100 million for high-speed internet services!

Yeah I'm wondering about kb vs KB, too...
But in kb, I get about 3100kb/s... (2500-2700 awesome cable modem connection branded with a 600+ DSL connection...)
My cable modem is as useless as an AOL connection lately.
The connection's on and off all the time and seems to have a bottleneck to it when it is working. Maybe it's time to switch over to DSL.

If you live in Central Ontario or anywhere in the North you are forced to go dial up :( We now have high speed at my winter home but not at my summer :(
