View Full Version : XMB Forum
sergio 12-09-2001, 07:22 PM XMB Forum now is included by default in CPanel, what do you thikn/know about it?
Is it a good forum? Have it security holes?
How difficult is to maintain it? (how much you should hack into code to maintain it? :) )
Synergy 12-10-2001, 03:41 PM A Majority of my users are using it..... Thats all I need to say.... I do like it when they dump their Ikonboard for XMB :)

Try it out for yourself.... Everyone has different taste :) Not to mention . . . . The ease of installation through cPanel, makes it a very attractive feature.
universal2001 12-11-2001, 10:07 PM where is it located?

inquisitive 12-12-2001, 05:44 AM I would suggest you to go for PHPBB 2.0 .
The interface is pretty intitutive and as well very beautiful. It does supports most of the features Vbulletin and more are under development...I would strongly suggest you to move on to PhpBB2.0
RotoHost 12-12-2001, 12:18 PM PhpBB2.0 does look very promising, but it is still in beta (last time I looked). Once it is released, I think vB will have a little competition. :)
i already use this boare at << DELETED >>... it is very very good board very easy to install and use but it has a little bug but not serious (i use lastest version 1.5)

akashik 12-12-2001, 03:57 PM I spent a fair bit of time look around at free boards and evetually picked XMB. It's a nice looking board with a good feature list. The community behind it seems quite active as well.

Um, don't click on that link unless you want about 50 pop-up porn windows.
pop up is come from host not from me and this is a free host
and the pop up that you got 50 pop up ??? ho i think you have looked many many porn graphic at once coz my web has only 1 pop up
anyone want to see the sample just go to XMB website and see the original at that site their are bug report and the way to solve
for the security hole i think you just used separated Mysql don't use it together with your site
I tried XMB before, but i've been more into using this one now.
http://woltlab.de - I think it's the closer one to VB.

But isn't phpbb 2.0 still under development, I've looked at their site, and last release is phpbb1.44

Yea, it's still in development, but it's getting very close to final release. RC-1 was just made available about a week ago. I've been tracking the CVS version for about month or so now and it's looking very very nice.

karstenj 12-14-2001, 09:59 AM XMB is very lean and mean, doesn't have as many features as phpBB. I would wait a while until the features are up to par with other leading boards. One particular problem is the new posts function. There is no function to display a list of posts and the markers for each board don't work properly.
