View Full Version : Turnkey Sites?
Amish_Geek 06-14-2004, 04:14 PM Ok, I have seen a lot of websites for sale in the other offers and request forum. I'm just curious as to where everyone is getting those website scripts to make the turnkey websites? I'm familiar with www.easysitenetwork.com but are there others? Or do people just buy one instance of the turnkey site, and then keep re-using it/reselling it?
rockergrrl 06-14-2004, 04:26 PM There are a number that are out there...
http://www.prozilla.com - $59 for 6 months - or $99 for 1 year of access.
-- I personally know Deb the owner of Prozilla. She listens to what her customers what from Prozilla.
or
http://www.dotcombuilder.com - $99 for 6 months - or $149 for 1 year of access.
Sizzly 08-11-2004, 08:59 PM what an eye opener. it's quite amazing that such sites exist, and they are selling turnkey sites on topics i designed from scratch!
rockergrrl 08-11-2004, 09:37 PM As least you wouldn't have to spend anymore time coding everything from hand anymore...
You could just edit those scripts, etc to your own liking - edit design, and no one would ever really know the difference.
It really can bring in money - either selling the membership - or individual sites with decent domains. Everyone's looking to make money these days.
Torith 08-11-2004, 09:44 PM rockergrrl which one you think is best out of these two you listed? prozilla looks nice and cheaper, dotcombuilder is more high price, but offers alot as well..........
:D

Zafar Ahmed 08-11-2004, 10:06 PM www.teen-terminal.com $500
rockergrrl 08-11-2004, 10:40 PM Both companies use the same programmer for most of their sites (all legal - just different additions for each). They just have different designs.
I prefer Prozilla. I've been a member for over a year now. The support is better at Prozilla. I've never been a member of DotComBuilder, but I've known people have been members, and switched to Prozilla.
Is it worth $199/year (they just raised it)? I know I wouldn't pay for it if I had the money.
Luckily, the sites are easy enough to understand, if you wanted to custom them - either via coding or design. I've edited a couple Prozilla's sites, with different designs, and you really wouldn't know any different.
Its up to you.
Torith 08-11-2004, 10:43 PM I just wish prozilla had some of the stuff the dotbom has or what ever the one is called. They have legal forms, garge sale, and a few other :( . Though prozilla is real nice...
rockergrrl 08-11-2004, 10:52 PM Deb, the owner of Prozila, is in the process of getting together at least 6 different sites right now. I bug her all the time about releasing new stuff.
Prozilla, has legal forms. Not Garage sale though (although it wouldn't take much time to edit their real estate script to do basically the same thing).
If you like good customer service, go for Prozilla. But if you don't need customer service (or lack there of), go for Dot Com Builder. DCB, is more corporate than Prozilla is. Prozilla has more one on one support.
Torith 08-11-2004, 11:22 PM by chance where are the legal forms? I might of missed it (that is the one I really like :D)
Torith 08-11-2004, 11:36 PM never mind I found it it
Amish_Geek 08-11-2004, 11:48 PM I joined with Prozilla right after rockergrrl told me about those sites. Since then, i've been domain crazy. My godaddy account jumped from ~40 domains to over 80
Torith 08-11-2004, 11:52 PM That is what I am worried about. I already have 12 domain names, and if I do get prozilla (which I will knowing myself as well as I do ;) ) I will most likley have another 10 to 15 domains my money bye bye..

Mesum 08-12-2004, 12:15 AM Where does money jump in?
Torith 08-12-2004, 12:48 AM after counting all of them I will need 30 domains? Eep that is.. $266.40 dollars just for the domains bah :o .
Amish_Geek 08-12-2004, 01:49 AM Well... some of the domains I've bought I've sold.
I bought the prozilla membership ($59 for 6/mo). Then bought a bunch of domains (5-6) one or 2 for myself, the rest to set up as turnkey sites to sell.
I've sold 7-8 sites for anywhere from $20-100, some with hosting, most without. ($50 for site, $50 for a year of hosting for the site)
So I've made back my investment.
Torith 08-12-2004, 01:55 AM How did you do it so fast to sell? Personally me I am going to have a few domains for myself (some of the sites that I like best) then just buy domains put it in sites and sell. Though did not think it would sell so fast?
If you like you can PM me how you did it. You must be a good pitcher. Have you sold cars before? ;)
