I am crazy now. I have no idea about setuping a website. What I need is a website to show my family and friends my pictures and for them to download and upload pictures(ftp).
I have registered a domain at powerpipe and bought a space at valuablehost. What I can access so far is the the contral panel on valuablehost.
Please tell me what I should do next.
By the way, I know how to write webpages.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

This thread doesnt seem to belong to this forum but anyhows what you should do is goto www.guistuff.com and register and follow the steps to get one of the best "PRO" looking & graphical sites.

But if you want it simple enough just open frontpage (If you dont have it download a WYSIWYG editor from www.download.com just search for "WYSIWYG HTML") and the interface you will see will be quiet similar to the normal windows UI.

Or, you can goto www.google.com and search for "build simple website novice", I am sure you will get some good results.

To upload pictures just tell your friends to get some FTP client and create them a seperate a/c on valuablehost (If they support multiple a/c's)

Hope That Helps :)

Yep. Just create your webpages offline first. Then you can upload it to your host using ftp. If you don't have an FTP client, you can search for free ones. Try looking for WSFTP or any other equivalent.

You are using valuablehost. The ftp server will be your domain name and your user name is the one that you receive in a welcome message. You should also have a password. Did you get one? I suggest you contact valuablehost (support@valuablehost.com) if you have a problem with this. They also have a forum for their clients at:

http://forums.valuablehost.com (i hope this is allowed in here).

You can ask help from other valuablehost customers in the forums.

Best of luck!

From reading what you wrote, I understand I have to wait a while for me to be directed to my domain. Sorry for the wrong post and thanks for your followups

To access the control panel, make sure you're going to https://blahblah and not http://blahblah.

doodoodoo, u write webpages (html or frontpage or whatever, doesn't matter), registered domain, have hosting site, can access to control panel.

But you confused how to set up a website.

My guess is... maybe you're not entirely sure about the control panel?? If so, you must learn how to use control panel, the best way is to learn from tutorials. Many webhosts provide the control panel documentation. You can also use other webhosts tutorials as long as the control panel is identical.

Hope this helps. :)
