View Full Version : vB Owned License for Sale

I have one owned vBulletin License to sell that runs out of upgrade time on July 24th, 2004. I am asking $105 for it. I will be going out of town tomorrow and will back in Monday. Only offers made between now and then will be accepted, as I will be going out of town again June 19th for a long time away from technology. Because of this, I want to leave plenty of time for a transaction to occur.

Payment:

Payment is accepted from Paypal only. You cannot pay via credit or debit card as I will reject any such payments. I've done it before (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=268518&perpage=15&pagenumber=2) and I'll do it again. If you cannot pay via your checking account or a current balance then do not waste my time. Yes, this means you.

Transfer:

The license will be transfered as soon as I receive payment from the buyer. The buyer must provide me with their name and the email address they would like the license to be transfered to for the transaction to take place. They must check this email, as vBulletin requires email confirmation.

I have already sent the information for this license into the moderators and I hope that they confirm it as soon as possible.

Thank you :)

You can also download vBulletin 3 with this License (Hence the "Active" status).

NOTE: I have decided to lower the price of this license to $90 due to the short amount of time left on upgrades.

If this is legal and can be renewed, consider it sold

Thanks eLiTeGuRu,
I did see that however from the dates it appears that the licence is valid for 15 months, I was led to beleive that they were only valid for 12 and that is why I stated "if it is legal"

They are the dates that vBulletin gave me :)

Oh well, I was going to buy it but you make it too much of a pain. ;)

Here is why I have an extra 3 months on my License:

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73426

Quoting from that post (Third paragraph):

As a 'thank you' to our customers for waiting this long, we will be extending the expiry date of most customers' licenses for three months. If you have a currently active license, you will find that the expiry date is now three months later than it was before, and if your license expired after March 31st 2003, you will find that it is now active again, and will expire three months from today.

I have Pm'ed Bright-Byte and will be leaving in another half hour. See you all Sunday!

I bought a license from mafo0 a while back and have to say he's a very nice guy. The transfer went very smoothly aswell :)

Incase the previous bidders change their mind, I will buy it..

Thank you! :)

Jelsoft has confirmed the transfer and has sent an email to Bright Byte. If he could confirm that would be great.

:) Hi mafo0,
Nothing yet, will keep you updated.

Make sure you check the specific email you gave me to have it transfered to (see PayPal receipt for this) and cross your fingers.

Your license has been transfered to the new owner as you requested. I
have sent a separate email to the new owner with the customer number and
password for the Member's Area.

Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

All the best,
Best regards,

Martin does not have a personal email addres, since this is through the support system at vB. To contact him email contact@vbulletin.com and request info on him. I will also PM you the license # so that you can make a specific enquiry.

Edit: Even better, I will PM you a direct link to the support ticket itself.

Hi. This is Martin from vBulletin. I did send the info and did the license transfer. I have no clue why the email hasn't arrived at your address. If you have some sort of spam filtering on, you may need to specifically allow email from vbulletin.com

To verify that this is me, you can send an email to support@vbulletin.com and address it to me.

:) Thanks mafo0 and Martin, I will check into our email filtering and make sure that it is not blocking emails from VBulletin. I don't think that is the cause however will still check.

I will let you know the outcome.

Thanks again.

Possibly a generic spam filter is recognizing certain "automative" patterns in the message and assuming it is unwanted? I would suggest turning off all spam filters of any kind (SpamAssasin, etc) until you have received the email. Once you have turned those off get Martin to resend, or something.

:) Hi guys,
I have checked, my server admins have checked and there isn't any spam filtering on the email account in question and has never had any spam filtering on it at any time.

I sent a support request from the above mentioned email address to support@vbulletin.com and received an automated reply telling me that some one will be in contact soon blah blah:

Subject: vBulletin Issue - License Transfer ATT:Martin

So I can't see how this could be anything to do with the email account, none the less I have requested the info be sent to the original email address along with another offsite email address and will let you know the outcome.

I thank both Matthew and Martin for their patients and hope we can conclude this transaction shortly
