why, when there are so many about already? not open source but i mean programs that you can use that have a P2P network.

Because most are big, slow, have adware, and to many features.
I want a simple, small, fast p2p network.
Thanks,
Kyle

Just use gnutella. It's by no means slow, and I know of no clients with adware (for unix anyway)
I personally use http://www.acquisitionx.com and Poisoned from http://poisoned.sf.net/
If you want to help with something smaller, take a look at the OpenFT project and giFT.

I already got one made up (well actually stolen and edited :p )
It was made in VB6, if you want I wil send it to you and you can start bulding on it (thou u must get permision from the one I stole it from (I only used it for fun and learning purposes))..
Peace,
