Hey,

Looking for a good but cheap merchant account, I don't exactly care that much for the rate (as long as its less than 7%) but please make it CHEAP setup fee....Please do not suggest 2checkout.com altho if nothing comes up here thats what I will get (I only need 3rd party guys).

If you only need something basic, I'd recommend going with Paypal. They get the job done. There's also paysystems.com, which is like 2checkout. Another one is www.worldpay.com. I've heard goods things about them before - never used them though.

When you say cheap setup fee...are you not looking at 2co because the fee is too large, or because you don't want them for other reasons? If it's the fee, I don't think you're gonna find a whole lot less than that out there setup-wise.

Jason

WorldPay setup fes are large. I think we paid over £400 ~ $700 upfront (including first year fees), but worth every penny.

I didn't want to go through paypal because it looks unprofessional, as for worldpay and paysystems, they are not third party any longer and have monthly fees and things, way too expensive for me at the moment.

What country are you in? Worldpay should pretty much only be recommended if you are not in the US

Well there are many options available to you. If you are going to be processing $1,000 or more a month, get a merchant account. Check out the WHT promo http://www.cdgcommerce.com/whtpromo.php - a lot better than third party processing.

Thanks for the mention, Corey. :)

I'd also agree fully that WorldPay is really only appropriate for non-U.S. merchants. There are too many good options available to U.S. merchants that provide an equal or greater number of benefits for a much lower effective cost. (But for international merchants, WorldPay is great.)
