cmoats 12-07-2001, 04:06 PM Hi,
Does your servers have a sales tax like rackshack?
coloman 12-07-2001, 04:11 PM no
Varun Shoor 12-07-2001, 05:04 PM Excellent deal, I might signup for this in a week after evaluating other hosts :D
One question, is the bandwith based on cogent?
From a traceroute, it looks like they are on cogent, but i may be wrong though...
coloman 12-07-2001, 05:17 PM actually we are on cogent and abovenet directly (GIG to above net and 2x100 to cogent) we are going to move the server over to the main hosting area so you can get good tracerts from both providers over the weekend - right now it is isolated on cogent. You can rety on Monday a new trace.
We also have EPIk building a gig to us that would be completed soon ??? - they are paying for their colo - their new fiber is on its way.
Looking at genuity and level 3 next - depends on price and how we continue to grow.
coloman 12-07-2001, 06:33 PM just signed up first server and informed them it was free - thanks for the confidence - the free one has been taken!!!!!!
Only 19 more to go. Thanks everyone for the postive replys in email so far. JH

Same question, there was a free one?
coloman 12-07-2001, 10:41 PM yes - in the original thread that I was exploring offering this service - I said that we would most likely give the first one thatsomeone signed up for away for free, I did not advertise this formally on the new offer - because I wanted to surprise the person that took the first step with us. - I tell you what - the next 10 that sign up - I will give a 10% discount on. :)
Better go fast because that is it - no more discounts - this is already bottom feeding pricing. !!!!!!!!!
one thing to let you know about:
your website is off of my page, it is really annoying. I have to scroll across the window to read the whole site.
Just a heads up.

bounce 12-07-2001, 11:49 PM How many free IP addresses does this come with ?
coloman 12-08-2001, 12:13 PM 8
cyber_cynic 12-12-2001, 08:00 PM Anybody taken up this offer from coloman?
If so, what has service been like?
Just wondering because I sent him an email 2 days ago requesting some details and have still not received an answer.
cyber_cynic 12-14-2001, 11:52 AM I guess nobody took up this offer.
Well I guess I'm beginning to wonder if this offer is real. I finally got a response from coloman after about 4 days in the form of private message/mail apologising for having overlooked my email.
Well I resent my email and guess what - I received a response overnight (bear in mind I am in Europe). Only problem is the response was empty i.e. no content in the email.
Now I am really beginning to wonder ....
coloman 12-15-2001, 12:11 PM I have 11 still available - I have also added 5 that have SCSI drives and are in Compaq server boxes - they are 150 - but they are excellent hardware!!
sbrad 12-15-2001, 03:33 PM Coloman.
Please contact me. After Christmas I'll be building another server to colo. I'm in North GA, and would like to come down for a visit.
Thanks.

smartmlp 12-18-2001, 08:23 PM I guess this is a nice deal in all... but.. like that other dude said.. is there any other curstomers? and can you cancle any time? and do you get root access? and can you change the control panel?
Well on a few posts above, coloman says "I have 11 still available" If there were 20 to start off with, and now 11 are available, do you think he sold any yet??
also It's a dedicated server, of course you get root access. :)
smartmlp 01-14-2002, 11:05 PM I guess it is over.
Just out of curiousity - what's this thread doing here?! Shouldn't it be in the Webhosting special offers...?
smartmlp - did you write them an e-mail, called the phone number listed...? Why do you think it's over...?
Why do you think it's over...?
well taking into consideration that this thread is almost a month old, and nobody has posted in it for a while, AND in a week "coloman" sold 11 servers (and now a month later) i'm pretty sure he has sold them all.
Thats Why.:)
Well, as I recall he said that he will get more when the first 20 servers are sold. But anyway, I'm sure he'll pop up sooner or later and answer for himeself...
sailor 01-16-2002, 02:46 PM The first 20 are gone - but we are now smoothing out and are ordering a certain amount of servers each week - we are satisfied with the offering and are now having them as standard - they may be in stock - or if we get behind it could take up to 2 days to get them.
Thanks for all the demand so far!
