Does anyone know where the best place to buy them are? (in terms of support and price)

Preferably rack mountable.. with a web based GUI..

Thanks,

I agree with Raqworld the apc's are very nice. We have a some of them at Cobalt Racks. They are rack mountable and have a very nice gui. They allow you to put a password on each outlet.

We use Western Telematics. Each port has its own password. They're rack-mounted. They work.

8 Ports = $595.00

WOW!

I'll run check 'em on Monday. Luckily, we've only bought a few from WTI. They rock, but only have telnet which throws the AOLians a loop.

Which model is it that allows a password per port? I thought I read that the apc only had 3 logins for all 8 ports?

Thanks

One thing I have always wanted to know, why dont people go for wake on lan ethernet cards and opt in for remote reboot devices?

Whats the difference, I mean wake on lan ethernet cards can enable remote reboots?

We use these http://apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=AP9217&language=en&LOCAL.APCCountryCode=WW

You can have 8 users one per port.. ;) As far as i know...

we use apc master switch's and they let you assign a login for each outlet.

I see there is the apc AP9211 and the AP9217. One does 12A other does 16A....which is recomended for servers with 400wt and 300wt power supplies?

Thanks.

16A should be fine for 8 servers. 12A maybe if they are some 1U's in there with a 250 PS
