How long does it take after a domain expires with Network Solutions for it to come available for registration?

How long does it take after an average thief steals something for him to return it to its proper owner?

Don't they have LiveChat?

Sometime you have to bring it to their attention.

That really doesn't answer my question

Would "long enough for you to give up waiting and find a new domain name" be a more useful answer?

I let a domain go 5 months ago and it is still in my name. Just like
the person in the reply above said sometime you have to bring it
to their attention.

NSI has a method of releasing domains I call "randomly releasing sometime between now and the rest of eternity". Basically they not only take forever to release everything (months, years....) but they refuse to give any information on when any domains (even specific ones you ask about) will be released. Now that's IF they release them and don't decide to put the things up for auction. I remember waiting 6 months after expiration for one domain only to find out they decided to buy it up and auction it out instead. Not $15 at dotster, not $35 at NSI, but a minimum of $300 to start off the bid.
