They are, like many other companies, reeling in some of their expenditures and contracting operations. Their mother company is also doing this (NTT Communications). NTT spent several billion dollars to purchase Verio, and it is looking like a number of other dot coms that have turned into a hole where you throw money.

Yes, it looks as if they are closing 25 datacenters and consolidating operations.

Every company is consolidating and down sizing, if they didnt they would go bankrupt, diownsizing is good, removes glut.
