But I want to uninstall/remove Plesk, then I want to do everything on my own (install apache, php ect..) I know how to install apache and php but I just dont know how to uninstall plesk and have a clean machine.

Thanks a mill

Plesk installs most everything into /usr/local/psa with a few other configuration files in the /etc directory.

How do I uninstall Plesk though?

Or is there a way I can remotly format/reinstall Redhat 9? Or maybe I should ask the admin?

Err. How about http://www.google.com/search?q=%22uninstall+plesk%22? Apache / PHP is obviously preinstalled, you could, however, still update it.

You won't be able to remotely reformat RH9 unless you know how to use jumpstart. Plesk isn't all that easy to uninstall. It is ment to be installed, not uninstalled.

Like Any control panel, plesk is meant to be installed, NOT uninstalled.
There are numerous reasons for this, the primary being software.
The purpose of a control panel is to provide the user with an easy to use interface to the system. In order to do this, in many cases, the control panel will overwrite system packages with their own. Replacing these packages is dangerous at best.

Best bet:
Contact the DC, have them reformat the server. Don't use a control panel unless you plan on staying with it, because this is a very common issue with them.

I don't want to sound rude, but did you guys ever use Plesk at all? It sound like you've maybe seen the GUI once from a few feets distance ;)

It's just a couple of rpms and can be uninstalled in a couple of seconds. IMHO, Plesk for linux/freeBSD is one of the most unintrusive control panels out there. Even if you had sites set up on the server before, it can be cleaned up in about 5 minutes...

Windows version is another thing though, but that's besides the point here...

1. Didnt cost any money
2. They just installed linux without apache, php, mysql... ect... which is what I wanted. I didnt want Plesk because I don't use it and its a security risk.

It's probably safe to assume that every dedicated server provider having more than a few thousands of customers has got a certain selection of ready-to-go disk images available. If they are willing to click a few buttons without charging for it - well, that's a different story ;-).
