What could be the cause of this problem:
I was suddenly unable to access my site via FTP or the web.
It seemed to happen fairly suddenly; I was checking over the site for broken links/spelling errors, and the next link I clicked led to a DNS error. I tried an rDNS and ping, and both showed my domain to be nonexistent, or not online.
At the time I was connected to my account via FTP so I disconnected and i could not connect again after that.
As far as I can tell, the trouble is with my domain, and not the hosting account.
Any ideas?

Nope, the problem is not with your domain, it has to do with your webhosting company.
From the way you describe it it seems like the server that is holding your site is "down"
Not down as in depressed but down as in not operating within the specified parameters :( (it;s broken mate)
Or... your ISP just has a hard time reaching your website atm due to some router problems.
Post the url so we can check

Thanks for the reply
I don't think its the server because there only is one server. All other domains pointing here work just fine, too.
I also doubt that it is my ISP; I have run pings rDNSs and Tracerouts from various different sites and all of them come up with diffrent versions of "Error - www.********.net doesn't exist"
I found I can still connect to my account with FTP if, instead of connecting to my domian, I connect to my host's domain using my username/password
I really dont know what it is.
thanks

Hi!
Try ftp with your domain IP.
Also try to ping the IP if it works try to ping the domain name.
Also goto network-tools.com and try the same.
If the IP works and the domain does not ... only then there is a domain problem.
BTW has the domain expired by any change..
Have a great day :)

Hi WoodShedd,
I have a site on my server which has the same problem. All other sites on the server are working fine. Did you solve your problem. If so, how did you do it?
your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
