What do you guys think?
![]() | View Full Version : Dinix vs ServInt for VDS? zerosix 06-08-2004, 06:29 PM What do you guys think? IGobyTerry 06-08-2004, 06:37 PM Servint by far. The extra ram you get is much more crucial than the disk space is. BiGWill 06-08-2004, 07:06 PM Definitely ServInt... just do a search here on the forums and you'll read why! sawbuck 06-08-2004, 07:10 PM ServInt definitely. westcan 06-08-2004, 07:20 PM Servint for sure. Just a FEW of the things they do great: -Excellent network -Daily + weekly free backups -Support quick and thorough -Good Amount of Space/Transfer/RAM -Price is right on par for the level of service they offer zerosix 06-08-2004, 07:43 PM any other companies for VDS you would recommend? with proven uptime? rasputinj 06-08-2004, 07:50 PM Originally posted by zerosix any other companies for VDS you would recommend? with proven uptime? I would suggest VPSColo, I have had solid uptime with them. I have been with Dinix before, I would also suggest them also. joemg 06-08-2004, 10:11 PM I have three reasons for going with ServInt Support Support Support zerosix 06-08-2004, 10:13 PM Do they have a ticket system? If so, how fast are they answered? (ServInt) Thanks. joemg 06-08-2004, 10:30 PM You can email or use the telephone. Emails are answered within minutes and telephone service is always answered immediately. Over the past weekend I in my infinite stupidity I messed up my VPS account and when I called support they walked me through the solution and they made the necessary changes for me. I usually use email for support but sometimes it is comforting to talk to an experience support person who can help solve your problems. I have been with other companies when either you email or send a ticket and sit in front of your computer waiting for a reply and you wait and wait and wait. ServInt support is excellent zerosix 06-08-2004, 10:42 PM wow ServInt seems to be very professional and very good for their price... sprintserve 06-09-2004, 01:20 AM If you are looking for the perfect host, it probably don't exist, but Servint is pretty close most of the time. Definitely a good one to consider. piramida 06-09-2004, 02:12 AM ServInt, sure. Perfect uptime and friendly support, excellent hardware, and, most important, always extending array of features and conviniences :) so they didn't buy ten servers, dumped 100 clients on them, left one reboot person and went to bahamas. no, they work on improving it :) So it'll soon be so far ahead of competition they will have to raise prices... Yes, maybe they have had a spews listing, but who didn't? In my experience, only one in a few hundred providers uses spews level 2 for blocking. Mostly third-world countries. Anyway, I hope it'll disappear soon, and when it goes away I see no other reason (besides being cheap) to go with other providers. Below fifty bucks for CPanel, super speedy disks, hotswap hardware, managed backups, and RAM at 256 minimum that can burst to 1024 seems not just inexpensive, it's a steal comparing to smaller dedicated servers. And you get friendly support and billing that makes your life better. We did not have ONE customer complaint on the quality of network/uptime in the last 6 months. All uptime monitors show 100%. Don't know what else is needed from a host :) Hot coffee in the morning maybe? Have to email BobFarmer and ask... alert3ff 06-11-2004, 11:23 AM ServInt is the way to go! You would in my opinion, be hard pressed to find someone not happy with ServInt. zerosix 06-11-2004, 01:09 PM What about ServInt vs VPScolo? mnett 06-11-2004, 01:26 PM What about do a search? joemg 06-11-2004, 01:32 PM I was with VPScolo for three days. They never got my server working and after a number of emails back and forth and a cost of $87 for those three days of terror I went to ServInt and four hours latter my server was up and running and since then I have had no problem. That is why I am a fervent supporter of ServInt. On another thread today I saw that VPScolo had a major problem with backups. RAID 1 Failure with Backup Wipe http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=282096&perpage=15&pagenumber=1 Just another reason I am so grateful to have found ServInt. zerosix 06-11-2004, 02:03 PM sounds like ServInt is super :) joshp 06-14-2004, 04:31 PM I can't comment on VPScolo, all I can do is say the support and service I've recieved from ServInt in the short time I've been with them has surpassed my expectations. |
