Hi ppl we are looking to build a nice new web server, were thinking of a dual Athlon MP do you think this is a good idea? also what MOtherboard would you say was a good bet for stability? would like the optijon of 4gig+ Ram. not yet sure if it will be 4U or tower! but any help would be great thanks!

anything on cpus or cases or Mobos i should use please and where i can get a decent price in th UK!

It doesn't quite answer your question, but we're in the UK and just got a 1U server from Digital Networks (http://www.dnuk.com), and they were fairly good. The machine hasn't had any problems as yet!

If you're building your own, somewhere like Micro Direct is generally pretty cheap. If you want cheaper, go to a computer fair for "cash only" components :)

Athlon is a cool processor. The best board I have seen with Athlon is the Asus boards...
We use these for our local test servers here at our office....
