I have some Dell 2550 questions. First is what tape backup system do you think I should get installed in it? What tape backup software?
By the way you guys were right about buying memory at www.crucial.com I stand to save almost $2000 Does this apply to SCSI drives? Is there a cheaper place I can get the SCSI drives?

Remember if you buy other vendor's parts and install them into the Dell system, you may void your warranty and Dell won't support them.
I dont know if this is for Dell per se, but I know vendors do this. (It makes sense)

Someone told me that if you replace the RAM in the Dells with RAM at www.crucial.com that it won't VOID the warrenty. I don't want to do it if it will.

It will not void the warranty :) We do it all the time. (BTW, Dell uses the exact same memory you can purchase Crucial)Is there a cheaper place I can get the SCSI drives?Just about anywhere else.

If you aren't near the datacenter, take in consideration it is quite expensive to have the datacenter to the tape backups for you.
