It looks like VDI is once a month down. Right now since about 15 minutes.
Hell, I DO NOT like that at all. VDI was a damn good data center but now they far away from being only acceptable.
Result: We will move our server out of VDI. The End.

15 minutes down time a month means 0.03% downtime.
i guess that is accetable. also there network info page doesn't show any outage. i also didn't notice the outage and i am online since 5 hours. may be i missed outage.
:)
I don't know much about VDI's data center and I've never had a site/ server there but if they are ONLY down for 15 minutes a month, thats very impressive. Chances are any downtime is simply the reboot of a few routers or a monthly refresh, it could even be a backbone problem elsewhere that they have little or no control over. The point is, 15 minutes down time is still 99% (plus) uptime which is an amazing thing. Obviously there may be other problems but if thats the worst, wow.

I guess you should reconfirm first before claiming downtime and post on public forums.

VDI did seem to be down this morning around 6:30-7:00am this morning ... Just because you do not know that your server was down, does not mean it was not down. I have a program that will monitor my server activity (eht0) at all time. When the network was down, I can clearly see the traffic went completely down ...
Anyway, not really a big deal since it was brief and in the morning. I have 99.5% uptime guarantee, so I hope VDI won't be down anymore :D
cheers,

Its no secret, I work for a datacenter, but it's amazing to see how many hosts are experiencing downtime. Are people just not doing their homework on the places that they are concidering hosting at or are companies just claiming to be totally redundant when they really have a weak setup. The old pitch gets them in the door I guess.

there are many things that datacenters aren't prepared for. Massive DoS attacks, or electricty problems are some of them. Could you anticipate something like rackshack's power going down because of a bad electrical engineer? I think not.
If it hasn't happened to your data center, it's bound to happen.

I saw mention of that somewhere. Does anyone have the full story on what exactly happened to Rackshack?
