wow, that one is about 2 years old, been doing the rounds for quite some time.

And it may be true as you should never under estimate the height of human stupidity.

example 1: I was conducting a training course yesterday and spent in excess of 4 hours teaching a class of 8 people how to save a file in MS Word to a network drive.

Either you are a bad trainer or you are teaching chimps - either way that is baaaad :)

Almost as bad as this company I work for. We have spent SHED loads of money on training - each person spending about 30 days total learning how to use Windows, Word etc

You would expect them that if I say "go to My Computer" they would know what I meant... but no.
How about "Left click on that" "but I don't have a left mouse button" - doh!

How old are these people?
Becuase those are the kinds of responses I get from the 6-8 years I teach at my local Boy & Girls Club.

WOW:D

They range from 25 - 50 years old
The older ones are a LOT more keener to learn!

Don't laugh, about 12 years ago I helped out on a support desk for 3 days to help a friend enjoy a vacation. Here is some of the basic question I fielded.

1) does this PC come with a real live mouse

2) where is the return button

3) why won't the computer boot ( disk still inside the drive )

4) I used the format command to set up a spead sheet and the computer won't work.

5) "I cut out the floopy disk, inserted it properly, but it still wont start"

we had a rep reverse over his laptop in his car...
another who let his dog eat his laptop...
another who spilt wine over his laptop whilst in a wild frenzy of sex with his wife...

:D

SOMEONE TOLD ME TO READ THE FAQ. GEEZ THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO USE PROFANITY.

I like that one. Here is an actual email I got from a user, when we shut down one of our search engines because it was sucking too many server resources and there were not enough revenues to keep it going.

This guy actually thinks that once he has paid his ISP, he has access to everything on the net for free. All nicely typed in capital letters and to my surprise he was not using aol, but is using at&t - enjoy!

that's okay I have an isp in missouri and here are my normal question I get in an average day.

Do I need my plug in my modem to the phone to check my email?
Where is the any key (just got the question today)?
How come I still have to pay for permission to go to some sites if I have already paid you (what im I paying you for)?

these are just a few of them
