Well, now I have seen it all. I never thought I would get something like this. Spam promoting a stock.

Here is a small section:

OTC News Alerts' last 3 picks have gained 358%
Here is our next HOT PICK!

Victor Industries, Inc. (OTCBB VICI)

URGENT BUY at 20 cents per share!

Largest OTCBB Percentage Gainer: VICI shares have exploded over
600% in the last 30 days on huge volume.

VICI is headed for $1.00 per share!

VICI's revolutionary patented fertilizer compound has the Fortune
500 begging for exclusive distribution rights.

Now one of two people I guess would do this. The owners of the company to incress their stock by it rising from demand, or some regular stock holder who wants a few extra pennies for Christmas. At any rate I find this type of spam just really pointless(who would buy stock off a random email "tip") and I also find it degrading of these people do. Anyhoot thats just my 2 cents.

I've been getting that one for years :)

The ones that offer to teach you how to make thousands/week on the Internet for just $19.95, and link to an Angelfire or Geocities page that has the "Verisign SSL secure site" logo all over it, but is of course not SSL encrypted and post to a free mail form that sends plaintext CC info to a hotmail account?

Those really, really piss me off. Now I'm all worked up again. Just went though this yesterday. *sigh* But they wouldn't do it if people weren't actually clicking on links that hide the real address of the page, reading all about getting rich without explaining what you actually do, and sending all their credit card and personal information into cyberspace completely unsecured. SPAM would dry up overnight if nobody bought.

Someone should sponsor PSA's. There, the Industry Certification group can raise money and do that! "A Public Service Announcements from the BWHB (Better Web Hosting Bureau)."

I've been getting them as well. Almost everyone spams, even religious organizations

The sender is trying to make money by buying the stocks early, waiting for the price hike caused by the e-mail recipients buying (well that's the plan), and then selling. It's highly illegal as far as I'm aware.

You should gather whatever information you can and report it to Victor Industries and the appropriate authorities.

This is exactly what this is. Called securities fraud. One of those things that I'm sure is fun to try to track and prosecute.
