I am about to put it up on AfterNic, but I wondered what everyone thinks that it may be worth, or if you would like to purchase it.

Hmmm, well a 'fortune' is somewhat relative. What do you feel it is worth David?

Most domains are really only worth the traffic they do or can bring in. Hosting news isn't that good.

If you post a price range in which you feel the domain is worth, you might get more response.

It is a good name, but it's hard for any domain to be worth a "fortune" anymore. Especially when the .net is still available.

it is not worth more than $9. stargateinc.com is selling for $8 a domain name. ~smile~

Here are my reasons.

1) hosting-news.com is much more valuable. When users do a search on the search engine, most search engines ( including yahoo.com and google.com ) will find the nearest matching keywords on the title and the domain name itself.

Search engines cannot translate "Hosting News" and list hostingnews.com as the option, but search engines can and will always list out "hosting-news.com".

In other words? You get more click throughs with hosting-news.com instead of hostingnews.com

BUT still , i wouldn't buy hosting-news.com even if it is available. WHY?

2) Do a quick research at overture.com.

Nobody types the words "hosting news" at oveture.com/goto.com in the month of October 2001! would u buy this domain name when nobody is searching for "hosting news"?

3) You can find plenty of hosting news at many web hosting directories.

4) Unless you want to make this domain name a brand, then it is quite feasible if you purchase. But branding on the internet nowadays takes at least 2 US millions, not considering into all the dot com burst, proper marketing strategies and affliate programs.

so, i guess this is not a good domain name to purchase.

Is there any traffic available as well or just domain?
