Wouldn't bother me much, as I don't really use the site they host. But it is my default email address :eek2:

Looks like it just came back up. I'm now able to access both valuablehost.com and my site.

I guess they're back up now.
Suppose I should go over there and see if anyone knows why they were down.

Just came from it's support forum and nothing's metioned there. I personally think it's a perfect host for small site. Rik there is friendly and replies quickly.

I agree. Rik went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me straighten out my domain name registration nightmare caused by RegisterFly.

I am still not sure what happened. Nothing in the logs to indicate any sory of problem, traceroutes were dieing before they got to my box, so that leads me to believe....well until I get a definite answer...

Of all days for it to happen. My wife was in surgery while this was going on. I couldn't leave - sorry to everyone. I am still trying to track down what was up.

Ps. The wife is doing okay, still pretty out of it and in some pretty serious pain. Hopefully she will be out of the hospital on Friday.

is it just me or did they rocket on the prices!!!
a couple of months ago they were giving out like 5 gb bandwidth for 7 or 8 dollars and now it's 1 gb for $48:eek2: :eek3: :eek4:

No I think you don't read very well. :) That is 1GB of bandwidth each month for one year, so it is $4 a month. All prices on that *one* page is yearly pricing. Maybe I will put it in BOLD Blinking letters. ;)

I thinkg it's a "trick" to get you upgrade to the higher plan or it's targeting the high bandwidth user.

If you upgrade the plan for one level, you pay $10 extra, you get 1gb extra transfer and 100MB storage.

If you are using 5Gb per month, I think you should pay $4 per extra GB. :D

I definitely not meant to be used as a trick. Obviously we work on a very low margin. All of our limits are soft limits, but we do have to make money some way. I think, taking in to consideration, our extremely low prices that our charge for extra bandwidth is VERY reasonable.

I will make changes to the pricing page so it is easier to understand.
