Chicken 12-04-2001, 11:02 AM Guess:
With vBull, since there are licensing requirements, you probably wouldn't be able to have 3 versions. I'm not sure if you just want these to be subdirectories of one domain, maybe it would work then? With boards that don't have licensing requirements, this would be no prob.
Jedito 12-04-2001, 11:35 AM Chicken I guess that he want to share all the forum, but change the "branding" of the site.
So, each one access to the same forum, but lets say, one is black, other white and other green.
This is possible Sasjamal, setting styles in VB
Then, each can call their branding style with http://domain.com/index.php?&styleid=XX where XX is the id of theirs styles
You can even use http://domain1.com/index.php?&styleid=X1 for style one and http://domain2.com/index.php?&styleid=X2 for style two, you only have to specify the same database in the config.php, but you can run it from different domains. It's preferable though that the domains will be on the same server as the database, else it will dramaticllay slow down site speed.
You may need to check the license thing for this solution.

Pretty safe bet that this is in violation of the license agreement. This would be running two copies of vBulletin on two different servers - just sharing the database...

sel_rahc 12-04-2001, 04:11 PM Are they wanting to share the exact same board and messages? Like a date message board being shared by 3 date sites? Or just share the same software?

klisis 12-04-2001, 04:30 PM Man, simply ask on VB support forum. (or open a support ticket)
JamesUS 12-04-2001, 05:36 PM Please send an email to sales@vbulletin.com, or if you already own a license use the form in the Members' Area, with full details of exactly what you want to do and we'll let you know if it is possible and complies with the license agreement.
It's most likely possible, but we need more information to know whether it fits in with the license agreement.

sasjamal 12-04-2001, 07:59 PM ok ill ask them too hopefully
Here is., exactly what, SAME exact board, same eexact meessage, same thing etc. but three different brands to it :) the styles thing seems like it would be best hehe
ill see hjow it works, they can all point to the same domain name, no big problem
Koopa 12-07-2001, 06:19 PM So you all want your own styles?
There is an easy solution to this, just create 3 differant templates in the vB, then you can select which one you want from your CP :D
Have you thought about doing that?
