Is this a new company? I love their prices. allending 12-04-2001, 04:30 PM I just paid for a dedicated server with them, so I can't say how great/not great they are yet in terms of performance and the like. But their support seems to be really really good , I've corresponded a lot of emails and every single one gets replied fast ( To me at least, this is extremely important, it makes me feel like a customer, not a number). Plus, the server is being updated with latest patches and some monitoring software FOC. (yay, no more hacks within minutes of getting the server) Dont need to go through the hassle of updating myself. Will post a thorough comment after a few weeks withthem  asj54 12-05-2001, 08:30 AM any more anyone? asj54 justagurl218 12-05-2001, 08:36 AM I've talked to them before. They're very nice, and they respond to emails quickly. amanda asj54 12-05-2001, 08:53 PM amanda, were your queries to their services technical in nature or some other things? the company I am working for is eriously considering to avail of their hosting services. do you all think it's worth it? asj54 justagurl218 12-05-2001, 10:29 PM Yes, they were technical in nature. Actually I've decided to move my site to them. I think it's worth it. :) I like how they have that's not on their network so you can check the status of their servers. I've never seen another host with that. amanda Dragonlord 12-06-2001, 07:39 PM I am hosting my websites with them since they had special offer about a month ago for WHT folks. Undoubtedly, their email support and technical expertise are excellent. I usually send them emails in midnight and they still responding. Only one thing that I didn't feel comfortable is that they are too restrictive. One example would be that they have SAFE MODE to prevent webpage scripts from manipulating directories and files. They seem to be too cautious. I explained that those are for administrative use only and not open to public, they didn't buy that. As for now, one of my websites is currently stalled because of this. We are still working on this issue though. One more thing that I am still wondering is that they also restrict use of your own message board. This also impairs a website's integrity as well as functionality. General speaking, they are doing a good job technically as well as support. I think I am just a bit tough and demanding. :) I used to be sysadm before and had all root access to all UNIX servers and all routers/switches in the company. You see why I can't feel good about being restricted. It is also my problem, too. DHWWnet 12-06-2001, 09:15 PM dragonlord is our client who is a Cisco engineer. Thank you, all for the kind comments. Dragonlord 12-07-2001, 06:38 PM Good to feel the rule is relaxed. Following is the email after I posted by feedback on this thread. Dragonlord --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From support@datahosts.net Fri Dec 7 01:31:59 2001 we had a conversation here at DataHosts.net about allowing the use of message boards, i talked to matt and bismarck and they said it is okay and allowed to have a message board. the php safe mode has not been decided yet but we will work something out to please our customers :) If you have any questions, feel free to contact us via email and we will answer your question in 24 hours but usually within the same day. cheers, John http://DataHosts.Net allending 12-07-2001, 07:14 PM I have a raq with them just to test, and I have to say they are really good support wise. Whenever I have a problem, fire off an email, and elijah gets back pretty damn fast within an hour most of the time (even late at night :D). I really recommend at least giving them a try. asj54 12-07-2001, 08:41 PM Hello John! I sent you an email last thursday 12/06/01 asking for the webmail URL so I can take a look but you haven't answered me back yet. Also, I was being offered by OLM.net this package: http://www.adtagger.com/cgi-bin/ad_1?land=olm_land12&site=734&ban=hostsearch Can you point out to me why I should go for your services and ditch the offer of OLM?
